Kawasaki Vulcan1600 Nomad

The One of Kawasaki's most popular models gets more chrome, more comfort and more cubic centimeters for 2005.
The new Vulcan® 1600 Nomad™ retains the elegant style of the Vulcan 1500 Nomad, but features more chrome, enhanced passenger comfort, and the big V-twin engine's displacement has been boosted to 1,552cc to give it an even keener powerband
The displacement has increased from 1,470 cm3 to 1,552 cm3. VN1500L exhaust characteristics are maintained; fuel injection settings are changed accordingly. The greater displacement substantially increases power feeling.

The Chassis Updates
Frame is essentially the same as that of the VN1600A with reinforced gusseting in the middle section.
Fork offset of 15 mm (5 mm less than that of VN1600A) results in ideal handling for this model.
Engine guard mounted to the downtube protects the engine in the event the bike falls over.
Pannier guards prevent damage to the panniers in the event the bike falls over.

The Styling/Ergonomic Updates
In addition to the windscreen and panniers from the VN1500L, the new Classic Tourer receives a number of new features designed to increase passenger comfort. These include the addition of a backrest, passenger grab rails and a change from pillion footpegs to footboards.
Backrest tailored to fit pillion's body provides high-comfort support for long-distance rides.
Elegantly crafted aluminium die-cast grab rails replacing the seat band of the VN1500L are shaped to fit the pillion's hands. In addition to providing additional passenger security, their chrome-coated finish contributes to the improved high-quality appearance.

Pillion footboards give passengers more choice of foot position, which translates to greater comfort.
Reshaped rear seat complements the backrest and grab bars and contributes to the increased passenger comfort.
New seat construction features leather seat covers bonded to urethane for high-quality surface.
Revised front emblem and an emblem added to the rear of the bike contribute to the enhanced quality.

Peugeot HYmotion3 Compressor Concept

This is based on the extensive experience of Peugeot Motorcycles, specialists in the scooter field, as well as the creativity and innovative capabilities of stylists and engineers working for Automobiles Peugeot.

The Style
On the basis of a frame designed by Peugeot Motorcycles, Peugeot car stylists unveiled a resolutely sporty and avant-garde design which also captures the spirit of their latest creations, for example the Peugeot 308 RC Z concept car.
Two polished aluminium roll-over bars support the "bubble" which protects the two occupants. This use of materials is strongly reminiscent of the RCZ concept.

These bars make a significant contribution to the vehicle's overall personality and balanced proportions. In addition to the comfort provided by this structure, the bars end in a handle which can be used by the rear passenger. To preserve the vehicle's clean lines, there are no rear-view mirrors, this function being carried out by two display screens on the instrument panel offering optimal rear vision.
Viewed from the front the vehicle creates a strong impression of modernity with its row of light emitting diodes (LEDs) on either side of the base of the front windscreen. These provide highly efficient lighting and also ensure that the vehicle can be seen easily in traffic.

Tapered front mudguards, strong lines and hi-tech rear lights... each detail adds to the dynamism of the Peugeot HYmotion3 compressor. A dynamism which bears a strong resemblance to models in the Peugeot car range...
Operating principle: simple, efficient, automatic and transparent for the user
The vehicle's petrol engine has a power output of 15 kW (20 bhp). It is the supercharged 125 cc engine featured in the Peugeot Satelis scooter, this modern engine is widely acclaimed for its performance in its market segment.

Two electric motors, one in each wheel, are present at the front of the vehicle. With a power of 2 x 3 kW, they are powered by "lithium-ion" batteries and recharged by an energy recovery system which operates during deceleration and braking.
Therefore, there are no mechanical connections between the front and the rear, everything being controlled electronically ("by wire"), allowing optimisation of the available space.

This hybrid technology, as well as its special innovative layout, is an important vector of research and development for Peugeot. Known internally as "HYmotion", this system is presented in multiple formats, featuring different types of engine, on Peugeot's stand at the Paris Motor Show. This concept demonstrates that the technology can be installed in any type of vehicle. In addition, different types of conventional engine can be combined with different types of electric motor.
The HYmotion technology in this case is particularly miniaturised to ensure an environmental performance of the highest order.

The suspension and the structure are designed to take account of this technology's application. The parallelogram type front suspension (i.e. with tilting wheels) has a transverse damper at its centre and ensures optimal driveability and vehicle stability. These technical components are located on the wheel hubs, therefore reducing the vehicle's centre of gravity following the example of the low-slung tubular frame.
The Braking, rendered more efficient by the presence of an ABS system, it relies on three ventilated discs and, above all, the front electric motors, which recover energy to recharge the batteries. This assembly (three wheels + electric motor braking) also reduces the braking distance by around 30% compared to a two-wheel scooter equipped with traditional brakes.

Piaggio FLY50

Technologically advanced, the Fly inherits Piaggio's tradition of combining safety, reliability, and practicality with an eye-catching design. Light, compact, and agile, the Fly is easy to use, simple to park, and offers excellent power-to-weight ratio for enhanced performance. The 12" wheels and large, tubeless tires also contribute to greater stability and agility in traffic, and the low seat is perfect for riders of all heights.

The Light, compact and agile, the Fly 50 is equipped with a four-stroke Hi-PER4 50cc engine for incredible economy. A protective shield and rigid steel tube frame ensure safe, precise riding, whilst a powerful, reliable front disc brake contributes to total rider confidence. The Piaggio Fly features telescopic hydraulic forks and 12" wheels with large tubeless tyres for easy handling and safety even on rough roads.

The Fly's large footrest offers plenty of space for the rider's feet, as well as allowing room for stowing a bag on the useful hook at the front of the seat. There is also a glove compartment and ample space for a helmet under the seat. The instrument panel is clear and easy to read, and incorporates a clock and calendar.
